We love a good DIY project both big and small. We’ll share some of our successful (and unsuccessful) projects.
DIY Projects We Love
We can’t resist a good DIY project — seriously. Hand us a paintbrush, shiplap boards, or a blank wall, and we’re in our happy place. We absolutely love the creative process (and yes... we’ve definitely gotten paint in our hair more than once).
At Life Styled and Living Well, we’ll be sharing all kinds of DIY adventures — from simple decor upgrades, small house projects, yard projects and seasonal crafts. Some will be quick, one-afternoon wins (hello, spray paint magic!), while others might stretch over a few weekends and teach us a thing or two along the way (like patience... and why you should always measure twice).
We’ll keep it real — sharing both the victories and the lessons learned (because not every Pinterest-inspired project turns out picture perfect, and that’s okay). Our hope is to inspire you to try something new, get creative with what you already have, and remember that DIY should be fun.
Grab your tools, roll up your sleeves, and come along for the ride. Who knows? Your next favorite piece in your home might just be something you made yourself.
A Few of our DIY Projects
A year ago I started with a laundry room with old flooring, some walls that badly needed touched up and un-organization that simply didn’t work. I took the shelves down, touched up and painted the walls and installed some new flooring I picked up from Amazon. Then I added shelving from Home Depot - a 12 inch deep gray shelf , upper cabinets and a year later finally finished by adding some custom shelving from Lowes - a 16 inch deep shelf and 2 -12 inch deep shelves, and decorated a little, grabbing some Coiled Rope Warm Gray Charcoal - Brightroom baskets and a fun new clock at Target and new towels from Marshalls. It’s now clean and functional and a much happier space.
Take a good shiplap wall, for example. It’s a great way to add charm, texture, and a touch of rustic warmth to any room. The best part? It’s a project that’s low-cost, requires minimal supplies, and can be done in a weekend. Whether you’re using pre-cut boards or the budget-friendly plywood trick, shiplap is one of those DIYs that delivers style without the stress. It’s proof that you don’t need a full renovation or a big budget to create something beautiful.
It’s the kind of simple, satisfying upgrade that not only transforms your space — it gives you that “I actually did that” feeling we love to celebrate.
