San Francisco
I’ve had the chance to cruise into the iconic city of San Francisco not once, but twice—both times with Royal Caribbean (of course!). On one of the cruises we had an overnight in San Fran, spending almost two full days in the city.
There’s something truly unforgettable about arriving by sea, watching the skyline slowly unfold and sailing beneath the majestic Golden Gate Bridge. It’s a breathtaking experience that never gets old, no matter how many times you’ve seen it.
San Francisco, with its rich culture, layered history, and vibrant spirit, has completely captured my heart. Every visit feels like discovering it all over again. From the famous twists and turns of Lombard Street to the eclectic, laid-back charm of Haight-Ashbury, every neighborhood has its own personality and story to tell. We were able to see everything during our Hop-on Hop-off bus tour.
No trip to San Francisco is complete without a stop in Chinatown—one of the oldest and most iconic in the U.S. I love wandering through the lantern-lined streets, popping into shops, and enjoying authentic bites that always hit the spot. Also, have you even been to San Francisco if you haven’t stopped by Boudin’s?
And if I had to name one place that always draws me back, it’s the Palace of Fine Arts. With its stunning architecture, peaceful lagoon, and quiet pathways, it’s a little pocket of calm in the middle of the city—a perfect place to reflect, relax, and take it all in.
San Francisco continues to surprise me every time. It’s a city I’ll always come back to. - Teresa
