¡Pa'lante! San Juan Puerto Rico

Sun, Rum & Salsa in San Juan

San Juan is the kind of place that stays with you — not just for its beauty, but for its vibe. The historic charm of Old San Juan, with its colorful buildings and narrow cobblestone streets, makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a painting… but with a soundtrack of steel drums, ocean waves, and spontaneous street music. There is so much to do in San Juan.

During our honeymoon, we wanted more than just beaches — we wanted stories, culture, flavor. And San Juan delivered. We opted for the Sun, Rum & Salsa excursion was exactly what it sounds like — a historic walking tour that blended history with a little (okay, a lot of) fun. We wandered through the historic streets of San Juan, taking in the sunshine, taking breaks for sweet sips, and doing some serious hip-shaking. We learned to mix a couple of classic Puerto Rican rum cocktails (with generous samples), and then — once the nerves were loosened by the drinks — we jumped into a lively salsa lesson. Let’s just say rhythm may not be guaranteed, but laughter definitely is.

There’s something magical about San Juan — the energy, the welcoming spirit, the rich culture woven into everyday life. It’s a place that invites you to explore, connect, and celebrate. We left with full hearts, happy feet, and a promise to each other: we’ll be back. The spirit of this Island is most definitely Rum and Salsa! -Stacii
