Welcome to Life Styled and Living Well — A Journey Rooted in Gratefulness

To say that Stacii and I are excited to launch the Life Styled and Living Well community would be an understatement. But if we had to choose just one word to mark the beginning of this new chapter, it would be grateful, which is the word that was placed on my heart for this year.

Each year, I choose a word to guide my focus, intention, and motivation. It’s never been a simple decision. It typically involves a lot of reflection, prayer, and soul-searching before I land on a word that truly resonates. But this year was different.

This year, the word grateful came to me not with hesitation, but with clarity. It wasn’t just a word that crossed my mind—it was one that God gently and intentionally placed on my heart.

In the past, I might have overanalyzed it (confession: I’m a chronic overthinker). I probably would’ve questioned if it was “the right” word or tried to unpack its deeper meaning. But this time, I didn’t. It felt peaceful. It felt right. I embraced it, sensing that this word had arrived for a reason—one I didn’t yet fully understand.

And then, just four days into the new year, life changed. My father experienced a medical emergency. Those early days were filled with shock, confusion, and trying to figure out how to best support him and our family.

And yet—even in the midst of that heartbreak and unknown—I kept coming back to this word - grateful.

Grateful that my dad is still with us. Grateful for the moments we still get to share. For the simple joy of holding his hand, sitting beside him, and bringing him homemade cookies (something we’ve always bonded over). Grateful for the outpouring of support from friends, family, and the countless prayer warriors who lifted us up when we needed it most.

This year has been a powerful reminder to appreciate both the extraordinary and the everyday moments. Grateful has anchored me in the present, even when the path ahead felt uncertain. It has reminded me of the strength that comes from community, the peace that comes from faith, and the resilience we can find when we lean into love and connection.

Life is beautiful. Life is hard. Sometimes it’s both, all at once.

My hope is that wherever you are on your life journey, you can find moments of gratefulness and joy—even in the mess, even in the waiting.

Thank you for being here. We’re just getting started, and we are so excited to share more with you—our stories, experiences, and a few of our favorite things, from fashion, home décor, DIY projects, travel, and so much more.
